These clients approached us with a building lot which contains a drive shed. When we arrived to complete our initial site visit + design interview, we couldn’t believe how beautiful and well seated the shed was! We approached the owners with the concept of converting it into the home, and through the design interview learned what considerations the space needed to offer - we were able to maintain a modest footprint (less than 1500 square feet!) with a small addition and use the existing space to achieve it all.

Through the conceptual process we were also able to navigate existing built conditions with their contractor to ensure that the conversion wouldn’t be demanding any additional cost or resources, and get a start on unique building envelope details that will ensure a smooth construction phase!

Sometimes we already have what we need, and just need a creative and collaborative approach to achieve it!
